Designed by Amber Rattlesnake

Amber Hamelin Rattlesnake is a Métis artist with a deep love for textile arts. She specializes in beadwork, embroidery, sewing, and crafting. A proud member of the Métis Nation of British Columbia, Amber has family roots in the historic Red River Métis community of Manitoba, as well as the Qu’Appelle Valley in Saskatchewan. Her family names include Hamelin, Beaulieu, Fisher, Desjarlais, Sinclair, and Vandal. Taught by mothers and grandmothers, Amber has been crafting since childhood and has a diploma in Fashion Design. Mentored by Kim Guillion Stewart, Lynette La Fontaine and Gregory Scofield, she uses traditional Métis beading methods to create new heritage pieces. She hopes to honor Métis artistry by blending elements of the past with her own unique touch, creating pieces that keep their stories alive. Her work— including intricate wall pockets and tobacco bags— has been exhibited at the Amelia Douglas Institute. Amber’s work reflects a deep respect for cultural heritage, storytelling, and the resilience of Métis artistry, blending past and present in each stitch and bead. Find Amber's website here
